Elevator Speech Workshop
2 Hour Workshop (2 - 4 pm)
The "Elevator Speech" is one of the most powerful tools in the job seekers toolkit. A good elevator speech enables the job seeker to quickly and effectively convey to the listener the core message: how the job seeker can add value to the employer.
In order to convey the core message, however, the elevator speech must be more than a mere list of accomplishments and former jobs. The great elevator speech tells a story about the job seeker, a story that catches the listener's ear and makes them want to hear more. The story does that by being personal and by capturing the storyteller's enthusiasm.
At the end of this workshop, the participant will have created a 1 to 2 minute elevator speech and practiced at least 5 or 6 times in front of other participants. The participant will also take away a method that they can use in the future to revise their current elevator speech or create a new one.
